In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire Renfrew, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type. A valid driving licence for the appropriate category is required, along with valid identification and proof of your current address. Payment details and a security deposit must also be provided. Additional conditions may apply as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Renfrew location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pick-Up and Drop-Off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed to document this assessment. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, aside from normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. You will be responsible for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount unless you opt for additional coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or a breach of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance status.
Cancellation and Amendments
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice period provided. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited uses of the rental vehicle:
- Use of the vehicle for any illegal activities is prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, and any activities considered hazardous. Transporting dangerous materials or sub-letting the vehicle is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Ensure the vehicle is used for its intended purpose, adhering to passenger and weight limits. Driving outside designated geographical areas requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Renfrew will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, related to your use of our services. Our overall liability for any claims is capped at the total rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
